Where To Go To Find A FREE Bike!

You can't get any cheaper than free! If you have been holding out on getting a bike because you don't have the money, then you have been waiting for no reason. It isn't hard at all to find a free bike. People give away bikes all the time, or worse, people sometimes even throw away their perfectly use-able bikes.
I live near a college, and at the beginning of every year, many college students will buy a bunch of stuff and then when the school year ends you'll find futons, TV's, chairs, bikes, and lots more of perfectly fine stuff piled in and around the dumpsters. Some students will even get a kitten or a puppy and then when the school year ends, they will abandon them. Check out this article.
Anyway, back on topic, if you want a free bike, the Internet has made it even easier to find one. These two web sites are my favorite to go to for finding free things. Even if you don't want a free bike, check them out, as you may be surprised at what some people will give away for free!
Freecycle.org - Join the group for your area and you'll be able to see all the free bikes (if there are any) and other stuff being given away around you. If you have stuff to give away, you can post it on here too. I gave away a skateboard that I wasn't using on Freecycle, and the kids that got it freaked out because they were so excited! It was a great feeling to give away something I wasn't using anymore to someone I knew would enjoy it!
Craigslist.com - it's such a simple web site, and it's so popular that, depending where you live, you should be able to find a free bike that someone is giving away near you. After you select your area on Craigslist, look under the "For Sale" area for the "Free" section.
There you have it, two places to go online to find a free bike. When trying these out, I do suggest you keep your guard up for weirdos. I'm not saying everyone using these sites are weirdos, because many of them are average people, but every now and then, you may find a weirdo.
