Mountainboard – A Large Wheeled Off Road Skateboard
By Action Isle • May 2nd, 2008 • Category: BoardsWith skateboarding you are confined to hard surfaces. Sticks, rocks, cracks, and even small holes are mortal enemies to the skateboard. The wheels of a skateboard just can't handle them.

If you want to experience off road skateboarding at it's finest, check out a mountainboard. Also sometimes referred to as an all-terrain board, a dirtboard, grassboard, or a landboard.
To make it simple, a mountainboard is basically a larger version of a skateboard adapted for off road riding. Big off road tires, bigger deck (bigger than a skateboard that is), footstraps, and trucks with shocks are all common on most mountainboards.
Snowboarders often mountainboard in the summer so they can continue to improve their skills. Mountainboarding can be a fun sport to try for anyone who skateboards, longboards, wakeboards, or does any other board sport.
With mountainboarding you can ride on much more than just hard surfaces.
