How to Slow Down on a Ripstik
By Action Isle • May 4th, 2008 • Category: BoardsRipstiks don't have brakes, so always keep that in mind when you are riding. With that in mind, there are, however, ways for you to slow down to a speed where you can hop off of the board.
How to Slow Down on a Ripstik
- When you are going fast, start to make wide carves and turns. Making wide carves is a good way of controlling your speed down a hill. When you are going slow enough, make a full circle turn. Turn uphill to get yourself to stop.
- Learn how to powerslide. A powerslide is what snowboarders do to stop. To powerslide, kick out your back foot so that the back of the board slides across the ground. This takes some practice.
