Freebord: Snowboarding All Year

By Action Isle • Sep 18th, 2007 • Category: Everything Else

The Freebord is quite possibly the closest simulator to the feel of snowboarding as it wilFreebordl ever get.  If you want to feel like you are snowboarding on pavement, the design of the Freebord makes it a great board for snowboarders wanting to recreate the feel of snowboarding in the off season.

Freebord TrucksThe Freebord has 6 wheels.  2 on the inside and 4 on the outside.  The outside wheels act like the edge of a snowboard and let you control your speed.  To slow down on the Freebord you carve just like you would on a snowboard. The outside wheels will help you turn and slow you down.

Stopping is just the same on a Freebord as on a snowboard.  The outside wheels will act like the edge of a snowboard and slow you down to a stop just the same.

The center wheels on the Freebord allow you to drift sideways like on a snowboard down a hill.  You can freely turn the board around and switch stances while bombing down a hill.  The center wheels on the Freebord give you the same sliding feel that a snowboard does on snow.

  1. I have a friend that has one of these… they are very tricky to ride, it takes a while to get good at it. They say to watch out from catching edges, try not to stop to quickly, and start off slow till you get the hang of it.
