Off Road Segway – How Did I Miss This?
I knew about Segways, but I never knew they had made an off-road version called the Segway x2.
The X2 is just like a normal Seqway except, you guessed it, it can go off-road on terrains such as gravel, dirt, grass, and even snow.
- Weight: 120 lbs
- Tire Width: 8in
- Max Speed: 12.5 mph
- Range: Up to 12 mi off-pavement

And just for kicks, here's a Chimpanzee riding on a Segway.

21 Speed Bike? Pssh! How About an INFINITE Speed Bike?
There is something called the NuVinci CVT, which can be used on bikes to provide an UNLIMITED number of gears. That's pretty amazing.
The NuVinci CVT (Continuously Variable planetary Transmission) system contains balls on the inside that, well... just watch the video, I don't think I'd be able to explain it.
When it's equipped on a bike to change the transmission you have to twist the handlebar to increase/decrease the drive.
This thing can be used on more than just bikes too. It can also be used on...
- Light Electric Vehicles
- Automobiles
- All Terrain Vehicles
- Lawn Mowers, Golf Carts, etc.
- Agricultural Equipment
- Wind Energy

MotoXBoard Road Trip

I'm a fan of innovation and when I first saw the MotoXboard I was instantly intrigued. I mean it takes the standard design of a motorized mountainboard and comes up with something entirely uniquely its own by placing a powered wheel in between the riders feet.
I've had experience with a cheapo (well not so cheap to me) junk motorized mountainboard that was bought on eBay. The thing was absolutely horrible, and it even tried to kill me (maybe I'll post about that later).
Anyway, it's nice to see something different come into the market and not the same old, mass-produced-in-China garbage.
Here's a video released a few months ago (I've been away for awhile) of the MotoXboard in action as their crew took a trip to Snowmass Village, CO.

SoulArc Surf Emulating Skateboard
The SoulArc board is made to simulate surfing on land. Other boards that emulating surfing do a good job mimicking one aspect of surfing, but fail at others. This board mimics an aspect of surfing that is often lost when riding a board on land. The design of the SoulArc makes carving feel more like it is being done on water then land. The board gives and lets you push into the curves.
The top maple deck is attached to what looks like another curved metal deck (called the "composite spring"). This configuration makes carving on asphalt feel similar to surfing!

Crowd Surfing in a Waterball?
We've seen what the waterball is like when it's used on water, but how about on top of a crowd of screaming fans? A band called Flaming Lips cleverly uses the Waterball for crowd surfing!
