Zorbs For Sale

Posted by – July 27, 2009

If you have ever wondered, "where can I buy a Zorb?', keep reading (don't know what a Zorb is? Read about Zorbs here).

After doing some research I have found that you really can't buy an official Zorb. Why? Because the REAL Zorbs are only sold to official Zorb locations. So unless you are planning on starting a Zorbing location, you can't buy an official Zorb ball. An official Zorb ball is thousands of dollars, so most people wouldn't be able to afford a real one anyway.

However, you can buy imitation and Zorb knock off balls off of various web sites. But before you go and fork over your money for a fake Zorb, let me tell you why you are better off not buying one.

These companies that are imitating and selling look-alike Zorb balls are not the real deal. They are expensive, and who knows how good the quality is? These companies are knowingly violating the Zorb trademark by calling their imitation product a Zorb.

When you ride in a Zorb, you usually are strapped in and you go head over heels over and over until the ride is done. Would you really want to be going head over heels in a cheaply made inflatable ball over the hard ground?

When you buy one of these fake Zorbs, and ride in it (or let others ride in it), you are placing your life (or someone else's life) in the hands of a company that doesn't mind deceiving consumers so they can make money.

So, if you see a "Zorb" for sale, stay away from it, it is a counterfeit- and when have you ever heard of a counterfeit product that is of higher quality than the real deal?

Xootr – The “Rolls-Royce” Of Scooters

Posted by – July 22, 2009

Just like the Rolls Rolls could be called the "Rolls-Royce" of longboards, the Xootr could easily be called the "Rolls-Royce" of scooters.

What sets the Xootr apart from the rest? It's a well built scooter that is perfect for effortlessly gliding along. While Xootrs aren't necessarily made for freestyle riding, they are made for cruising the streets.

The wheels on the Xootr offer as little friction as possible so that when you kick, you can glide for a long ways.  That means you don't have to kick as much, because you can go longer and faster with each kick

A Xootr would be a great scooter for cruising and urban transport. Currently, Xootr makes several different models of Xootrs that vary in style and performance.

To me it looks like it is very well made, and would be a really nice and FAST scooter for cruising and urban transport (which is exactly what they are made for).  A downside I can see though, is I doubt the wheels would handle cracks or bumps very well.

What do you think of the Xootr? Rate how cool you think it is below and leave a comment!

The Shred Sled – “The Ultimate Casterboard”

Posted by – March 20, 2009

The Shred Sled is like all the other caster boards out there (ripstik, wave board, s-board, the list goes on) but it adds a little something extra to the mix by throwing in two more wheels.

Other caster boards like the ripstik only have two wheels, the shred sled has four.  This is said to give the rider more control, make it easier to ride, and smoother as well.

The Shred Sled Specs

  • It brings the thrills and carving movements of snowboarding to the streets.
  • It has a cool feel--combination of snowboarding and skateboarding.
  • Can quickly go uphill. It's easy
to propel the SHRED SLED. You don't even have to push off!
  • 4 INLINE wheels have much more control than 2 wheels.
  • The 4-80mm polyurethane wheels and ABEC-5 Bearings are SMOOTHER and STRONGER and rarely need to be replaced. (unlike other boards)
  • The concave decks make for better foot control.

Pumgo Skateboard: No Kicking Required

Posted by – March 17, 2009

The Pumgo skateboard is a kick-less skateboard where the rider pumps the board back and forth to propel themselves forward.

It kind of looks like a seesaw for your feet.

Apparently the Pumgo is not only fun to ride, but it also gives your core muscles a great workout.

Riding it requires core strength to remain balanced while pumping the Pumgo back and forth.

Tribred: Electric Trikke

Posted by – March 16, 2009

The Trikke is a pretty sweet cross between a scooter and skates.

While the methods of propelling it are a bit tricky for me to describe, it doesn't look very hard to use, and you can get going fairly fast.

Now that they have released the Tribred and the E-Kit it it is even easier to get around faster.

The Tribred is a Trikke with a little added bonus. You can propel it yourself, with the electric motor, or you can do both.

The E-Kit is for current Trikke owners who want to make theirs electric. The Tribred and Trikkes with the E-Kit installed can go up to 17 mph for up to 12 miles.

It seems that with enough determination you can motorize anything.  Below is a video of a homemade motorized t-board. The t-board made by Tierney Rides rides like a snowboard, and has just two wheels.

Wow – Sandboarding/Sand Sledding Videos Worth Watching

Posted by – March 4, 2009

I have always wanted to try sandboarding or sand sledding.  I imagine that you would get sand everywhere, but I think it would be worth it, especially after watching these videos.

The people sand sledding in this video are FLYING down that dune.  I couldn't believe they were actually going 75 mph.  I can't imagine going that fast down a sand dune!

The dune in this video, called Cerro Blanco, is HUMONGOUS.  I had no idea that there were sand dunes out there that big.  It looks like it would be a long, long, long hike up, but an unforgettable ride down!
