Altered Electric Skateboard M4 800

By Action Isle • May 1st, 2008 • Category: Boards, Motorized

I've seen many electric skateboards before, but not many have off road tires like this electric skateboard made by Exkate.

The Altered M4 800 has the power and durability needed to go on or off road. The pneumatic tires make it able to handle rough terrain. No need to worry about rocks or sticks in the way of your wheels with this board.

With the wireless handheld accelerator and brake the rider can easily control their speed or accelerate up to an impressive 20mph. Not too many electric skateboards with off-road tires can say that.

  1. Hello ! I’m interested in purchasing the M4 800 skateboard.
Please inform how can I acquire one.
    Thanks.

  2. I just got a new M4 board and love it. I’ve been trying to get my hands on one for a while and I guess the are sold out everywhere but in Hawaii. I got mine from http://www.bionicwheels.com, they charged $599 plus $85 for UPS Ground shipping to Florida, not bad! Great service, thank you, Robert.
The warranty said to not use it on grass, gravel or in the rain, but that’s the most fun! The board is scary fast and batteries will go for over an hour and even up steep hills. Kind of heavy and bulky and big turning radius but rubber tires are awesome!

  3. You can check out the “for sale” page that I just added onto this website! It’s still under construction, but I plan to have a whole lot more on it very soon!

    Thanks!

  4. I have had my M4 for over a month. It is realy awesome. I ride it on the street and go off on to the grass and gravel just because I can. It is the best electric off road board. And it keeps me sharp for snowboarding. Thank you Bionic Wheels!!!

  5. Skateboards like these are great of jungle terrain, no more paddling your feet this alien like skateboard has a wireless controller that lets you control your speed.

  6. This board is pretty cool, I would pick a street board over it if I only had one to own. I will be writing about it soon at http://www.electricskateboardreviews.blogspot.com as I love Exkate/Altered products. When I ride this Beast M4 800 the center of gravity it high and strange compared to a street version (also you have watch it to keep your feet from hitting the tires!)But it’s a Cool Ride for Sure!
For Speed & Power I have three of the X-24′s myself and ride often.
Bless On from Kyle in Cali*

  7. I have the M4 800! And I have to send it back, Again, to be fixed because the motor keeps over heating. It’s a great ride, when it works. Very frustraiting!

  8. The M4 800 is an awesome skateboard. It hasn’t been perfected yet and the problem is that it overheats because it’s pushing out 22amps. (36volts divided by 800watts) There’s no real cooling system other then the air that blows on it. So for instance, if your riding it on a very hot day, you can’t ride it for long. Once it overheats, that’s it, The Engine’s Dead!!! That means you have to package the board, and send it back to California to get fixed. The guys over at Excate are great! Once you send the board back to them to be fixed, it’s going to take a month before you get it back because they have to order the part.
It’s a great way to get around, but it overheats quickly. It says you can go 10miles….make that more like 5miles. I weigh 185lbs, maybe if I weighed less it would go farther. I’m hoping the updated board that comes out will have a cooling system. Other then that, This board is amazing!

  9. Hi,
This is Robert from Bionic Wheels in Hawaii. Thanks for the feedback! I’m happy to announce that Altered has upgraded the M4 with a bigger motor that no longer has the overheating problem. The 2009 M6 model also has a new 3G Digital remote control system, upgraded electonic circuits, a killer Resin 9 deck and more. WE are expecting to receive the new boards soon. Check out our TV ad with cool action footage on YouTube:
