The three wheeled homemade mountainboard that this guy made looks great, but it doesn't look like it can turn. I don't know where he got the frame part of it, but it looks like it was pre-built and all he had to do was put the skateboard deck on it.
Take a look at what happens, it's pretty funny. Looks painful though.
On Shore Boards creates boards that bridge the gap between surfing, snowboarding, inline skating, and longboarding. The boards they create offer a riding experience similar to surfing, but yet unique in their own way.
The Impala is the largest board they currently offer. At 51'' the Impala is known as their "cadilac cruiser." It is great for tackling bigger hills. The way the wheels are on the Impala, and all of the other On Shore Boards, is what makes the boards unique from any other.
In the back is a truck with two wheels on each side. The back truck is similar to what is found on a skateboard. The front four wheels resemble the wheels of an inline skate. All of the wheels can be replaced with any standard inline wheel up to 84mm.
The Xlider is two seperate skates that the rider stands on with one under each foot. By moving as if they are "walking," the rider can propel themselves forward.
Each board has two wheels underneath that can turn side to side freely. This allows the rider to be able to do all sorts of spins. The Xlider shares sort of the same concept as Freeline skates, but the main difference is that the wheels on the Xlider can turn side to side.
The two skates of the Xlider can attach together with a spandex belt that can stay on while riding, and make carrying it easier. For the most part though, it appears most prefer to ride without them hooked together.
The Turfdeville made by Turfboard is an all-terrain board that turns the world into a giant mountainboarding park. The unique design of the Turfdeville causes it to not get speed wobbles. It's pneumatic tires and independent suspension help give the rider a smooth ride down, and it's built in brake can be used to help control the speed of the descent. The Turfdeville is designed to be used with snowboard bindings, so strap in, and bombs away!
As of yet, an all-terrain version of the T-board hasn't been released, although I know Tierney Rides has at least thought about it.
A video of an all-terrain version of the T-board in action has been floating around the internet for a while now. Will Tierney Rides ever make an off-road T-board? I don't know, but I keep hoping!
Snowboarding and Skiing in Dallas, Texas? Hong Kong? France? No matter the season, or the temp, Snowflex makes it possible to snowboard and ski in seasons and locations where you normally wouldn't be able to.
Snowflex is an artificial snow surface that is kind of like a "snow carpet." Past artificial snow surfaces have a reputation of being painful to fall on. Snowflex, on the other hand, is soft and has a layer of cushion underneath it, making it a more rider friendly surface.
To make the Snowflex surface slippery, they use sprinklers with it to make it wet. The Snowflex surface is slick but yet it still has enough grip for edge control.
They have set up Snowflex snowboard, ski, and even snow tubing parks in the UK and Hong Kong. With the appeal of Snowboarding and Skiing year round in even hot climates, you can expect more Snowflex centers to open up in locations all over the world.
